Authorities in Frenchtown Township, Michigan, have arrested a 44-year-old suspect following a pellet gun shooting at the Kimberly Estates mobile home community that left one man injured.
The incident occurred on Friday, May 1, 2026, at approximately 2:30 p.m. near the intersection of Telegraph Road and Buhl Road. Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of a disturbance in the area of Lauren and Huntington Drive, where they located a victim suffering from a facial injury caused by a pellet gun.
Investigators stated that the incident stemmed from a dispute between individuals who were known to each other and is not believed to be a random act of violence.
Roughly five hours after the initial response, authorities received information that the suspect’s vehicle was located within the same mobile home complex. Deputies, assisted by the Michigan State Police, responded to a residence on Mark Drive, where the suspect was observed exiting the home and was taken into custody without incident. The weapon believed to have been used in the shooting was recovered at the scene.
The suspect has been lodged at the Monroe County Jail and is expected to be formally arraigned, at which point his identity will be released.
The victim was treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to recover.
Officials have confirmed that the incident appears to be isolated, and there is no ongoing threat to the public as the investigation continues.
