Seventeen-year-old Ezekiel Rudy Almazan has been identified as one of two victims who lost their lives in a tragic shooting early Saturday morning in Amarillo, Texas—a devastating incident that has left families grieving and a community searching for answers.
According to authorities, the shooting occurred around 1:58 a.m. at the Westminster Apartments on Coulter Street. What began as a typical weekend gathering quickly turned chaotic when another group reportedly arrived uninvited. Investigators believe some individuals involved had previously been asked to leave another party earlier in the evening and later followed others to the apartment complex.
At some point, the situation escalated when the group allegedly attempted to force entry into one of the units. Gunfire soon erupted, sending people fleeing in panic. Authorities confirmed that a rifle-style weapon was used during the incident.
When the shooting ended, two individuals had been fatally wounded. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Ezekiel Almazan was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
