The Fort Wayne community is mourning the loss of James David North, a 69-year-old resident who tragically died following a collision involving a semi-truck on April 30, 2026.
According to the Allen County Coroner’s Office, North died from multiple blunt impact injuries, and his death has been officially ruled an accident. The crash occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Illinois Road and Ansley Drive, just east of Interstate 69.
Preliminary reports from the Fort Wayne Police Department indicate that North was traveling eastbound on his motorcycle when a semi-truck pulled out from a private drive, resulting in a severe collision that led to a fire. Emergency responders transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
